Dear fellow Italians,
It is with sincere emotion that I take on the role of Ambassador of Italy to Saudi Arabia, a country engaged in an ambitious program of development and growth to which Italy is linked by a strong bond of friendship. The historically deep relationship between the Kingdom and our country takes on an increasingly dynamic character in the current international situation: Italian-Saudi collaboration today embraces all fields, from economics to political cooperation, without forgetting the important joint work in the scientific and cultural fields. Italy is a fundamental partner of Saudi Arabia within the framework of the reforms known as “Vision 2030“. The priority of my mandate as Ambassador of Italy to Saudi Arabia is to contribute to the deepening and development of the strategic dimension of the bilateral partnership, crowning a process – already firmly started by the two Governments – of further reinvigoration of all-round relations between Rome and Riyadh.
This ambitious objective can only be achieved thanks to the work of the women and men who every day, with their professional activity, contribute to the development of the friendship between Italy and Saudi Arabia. I am referring in particular to you, the very many compatriots active in the Kingdom in all sectors. You stand out for your great professionalism and represent the best possible business card for our country abroad. In the Italian Embassy in Riyadh – and in the Italian Consulate General in Jeddah – you will always find a side you can safely rely on. I count very much on your contribution and look forward to the numerous opportunities to collaborate that – I am sure – await us in the near future.
My mandate also includes secondary accreditation to Yemen, a country to which Italy has long-standing and deep-rooted ties, the centennial of which we will celebrate in 2026. At this particularly complex juncture, Italy is committed to fostering conditions and prospects for growth, stability, and development in this nation.
I am honored to be able to undertake this journey together with you and I wish everyone good luck in our daily commitment to develop the friendship between Italy and Saudi Arabia and between Italy and Yemen even further.
Carlo Baldocci
