The inaugural edition of Red in Progress: Salone del Mobile.Milano meets Riyadh has been officially announced during the Cultural Investment Forum in Riyadh. The teaser event, scheduled for 26–28 November 2025 at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), marks a landmark collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Italy in the fields of design, architecture, creativity and innovation. The announcement was made in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Carlo Baldocci by the CEO of the Architecture and Design Commission, Dr. Sumayah Al-Solaiman, and the President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, Maria Porro. The initiative follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Architecture and Design Commission of the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Salone del Mobile.Milano. With over 35 premium Italian design brands participating, the three-day showcase will transform Riyadh’s financial hub into a vibrant crossroads of Italian design excellence and Saudi creative vision. The event aims at strengthening creative and economic ties, at fostering professional exchange and promoting innovation and sustainability in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
This strategic collaboration not only highlights the growing synergy between Saudi Arabia and Italy but also positions design and creativity as key drivers of sustainable development and economic diplomacy. The event is realized with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation and ICE-ITA (Italian Trade Agency).
