In recent weeks, a deterioration of the regional security landscape in the Gulf has been observed, against a backdrop of heightened tensions between Iran and the United States and Israel, and the ongoing conflict involving missile and drone attacks against infrastructure and assets linked to American regional interests in Gulf countries.<\/p>\n
Riyadh\u2019s response has been guided by a containment approach, both in terms of air defence and communications, and by a deliberate effort to maintain a perception of internal normalcy, with the explicit aim of ensuring continuity of economic and social activities, even in the presence of enhanced security and vigilance measures and intense diplomatic activity aimed at fostering regional de-escalation.<\/p>\n
Within this framework, contacts between Italian and Saudi authorities are continuing, confirming that bilateral dialogue remains active even during a phase of heightened regional uncertainty.
